by Arla Patch

This short video (0:07:42) is an appeal to the former First Lady and President Obama to tell the country the truth about our history with native peoples in the U.S., and in the context of that truth telling, apologize. Arla provides a very brief overview of some of the predominant culture’s unspoken history and current conditions.

About this Work and Witness:

Arla Patch is a member of Doylestown Friends Meeting, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, Religious Society of Friends. While residing in Maine, Arla became involved in the first truth and reconciliation commission in the U.S. for what happened to Native children in the child welfare system: the Maine Wabanaki – State Child Welfare Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The healing has begun in Maine. We are blessed to have Arla’s gifts released, in creation of Beloved community.
